Abstract

The potential application of grIaphic simulation for knowledge representation is discussed in details. Two case studies indicate that graphic information is as important as numeric or symbolic information in the description of real world problems. For those problems that numeric computation and symbolic reasoning are difficult to be employed, graphic simulation offers a valuable alternative. Besides computer vision and image processing, graphic simulation provides us another means to describe the real world with easily conceived graphics. This will stimulate us to build more intelligent systems.
