Graphic keypad in intrusion alarm systems

Abstract

Intrusion alarm systems (IAS for short; also known as burglary and robbery alarm systems) can be classified as belonging to the group of electronic security systems. Intrusion alarm systems are installed and operated in a variety of public and private buildings having very different uses. Therefore, intrusion alarm systems require different types of interfaces to allow effective operation by humans. This paper provides a set of functional requirements for intrusion alarm systems, followed by an overview of selected IAS user interfaces. Keywords: electronic security system, interfaces, security.
