Abstract

In this paper, charts with textual explanations are used to explain and analyze the processes and principles of mechanical reliability testing and data collection. The complex and difficult to understand testing techniques and data collection and analysis methods for mechanical reliability are intuitively presented and scientifically interpreted using popular and easy-to-understand language and simple and clear illustrations. The main contents related to reliability testing and reliability data collection and analysis are introduced, including the objectives, classification, comprehensive arrangements, elements and planning for reliability testing, determination of the load spectrum, accelerated reliability testing, and other reliability testing contents, as well as reliability data collection, basic methods of reliability data analysis, and other reliability data contents, which guide the readers in recognizing the wonders and practicality of mechanical reliability engineering. For the first time, block diagrams are drawn for reliability testing contents and classification, dynamic and gradually changing load-time-spectrum, reliability bench (cycle) testing of mechanical products, and accelerated reliability testing of mechanical products, and the contents and steps are clearly given for the reliability bench (cycle) testing of mechanical products and accelerated reliability testing of mechanical products. This aim of this paper is to popularize the testing techniques and data collection and analysis for mechanical reliability and, thus, to provide a solid and powerful foundational reserve in mechanical reliability engineering for the design, manufacturing, use, and assessment of mechanical products.
