Abstract
The history of research into graphene polymer composites is shortly discussed including the extremely high initial expectations and the reasons why present graphene polymer composites often do not even come close to such properties. Furthermore, the properties and possible applications of realistic graphene polymer composites and some personal viewpoints on the needs to make these a commercial success will be given as well.
