Abstract

AbstractA ‘gold rush’ has been triggered for functionalization of graphene and application of graphene‐based nanohybrids. The application fields involve physics, chemistry, biology and medicine as well as their interdisciplinarities. In this review, we highlight the recent progress of graphene based nanohybrids for electrochemical sensing applications toward a few representative biological analytes including DNA, glucose, dopamine, ascorbic acid, uric acid, nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide and biological metal ions. The specific interactions of these substances with graphene and the transduction of target recognition are illustrated. Future challenges and prospects of graphene based nanohybrids applications in electrochemical sensing are discussed.
