Abstract
A 64-year-old woman came to the oral medicine service with a 1-month history of gingiva alterations associated with pain and weight loss. The patient had been evaluated by several health care professionals who prescribed antifungal and anti-inflammatory medications with no clinical response. In the medical history, the patient had reported herpes zoster (HZ) infection in the 2 months before onset of the oral lesion. The patient reported no other diseases.
