Abstract

The Engineering Foundation has announced a major expansion of its grant program and has extended the deadline for 1990 applications to December 15, 1989. With a grant from the U.S. Air Force Office of Scientific Research the foundation has added the new Air Force Engineering Research Initiation Grants program to parallel its ongoing Engineering Research Initiation Grants Program. For information contact the Engineering Foundation, 345 East 47th Street, New York, NY 10017; tel. 212‐705‐7835.The Office of Technology Asssessment of the U.S. Congress will select as many as six fellows for 1990–1991. The program is open to individuals working in physical and biological sciences, engineering,, law, economics, environmental and social sciences, and public policy. The annual salary ranges from $28,000 to $55,000. OTA provides congressional committees with analyses of issues involving science and technology, such as energy, agriculture, international security, environment, and education.
