Abstract
A new dimeric diterpenoid, grandione ( 1), has been isolated from Torreya grandis Fort. and its structure elucidated by spectroscopic and chemical analysis. Grandione is a heptacyclic rearranged abietane-type dimer. Dynamic HPLC (DHPLC) studies showed the presence of a tautomeric equilibrium in solution between 1 and its enolic form 1a.
