Grand Canyon: A History of a Natural Wonder and National Park . America’s National Parks Series. By Don Lago. As Don Lago notes at the beginning of his narrative, there are hundreds of books about the Grand Canyon. Many of these tend to focus on particular aspects of the canyon’s history, such as geology, exploration, tourism, and the National Park Service (NPS). Lago instead offers a broad view of what he calls, “first of all, a cultural history” of the Grand Canyon (p. 6).
