Abstract

SynopsisDryland grain sorghums showed a marked response to plant populations, row spacings, and stored soil moisture under drouth conditions. Under extreme drouth conditions in 1955 there was an inverse relationship between forage and grain production. Water use efficiency for grain production increased as the amount of stored moisture increased.
