Abstract
The present paper studies the physical properties such as viscosity and grain size of the newly formed submerged arc welding (SAW) fluxes. The response surface methodology (RSM) was applied to formulate the design of experiments (DOE) and fluxes were developed. These properties of developed agglomerated fluxes were used to identify their effect on weld bead appearance and quality of weld. The results were found satisfactory.
