Abstract

Grain growth in metal oxide powders during isothermal sintering is described by the phenomenological kinetic grain growth equation1: $$ G^n - G_0^n = k \cdot t = k_0 \cdot \ell ^{\frac{Q} {{R \cdot T}}} \cdot t, $$ (1) where are G - average grain size at the time t, G0 — initial grain size, k 0 — constant, Q — activation energy, R — gas constant, T — absolute temperature, t — time and n — kinetic grain growth exponent.
