Abstract

Grafting copolymerization of dimethylaminoethylmethacrylate (DMAEMA) onto preirradiated polypropylene (PP) films was studied. PP samples were irradiated by electron beam in air. The effects of co-solvent system of ethanol/water (EtOH/H 2O), absorbed dose, monomer concentration, reaction time, and reaction temperature on the degree of grafting were determined. The grafted sample films were investigated by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy in the attenuated total reflectance mode (ATR).
