Abstract

AbstractMouse yolk sac cells at the 9th day of gestation were found capable of eliciting, in vitro, a graft‐versus‐host response manifested in splenomegaly. Reactivity of 5 x 104 and 1 x 105 yolk sac cells was greater than that of adult spleen cells tested at the same concentrations. It seems that the immune potential of yolk sac cells at this stage of development is higher than that of the adult spleens.
