Abstract

Purpose: CPR in pets has been practiced for many years and emergency clinicians are performing CPR more than 10 times per year.1 However, reported survival-to-hospital-discharge rates for in-hospital cardiac arrest are below 9%. Moreover, we previously identified a wide variety in clinical BLS and ALS performance.1 Using an ILCOR-like approach,2 the Reassessment Campaign on Veterinary Resuscitation (RECOVER) was launched to review evidence, identify knowledge gaps and to arrive at clinical guidelines for pet CPR, in order to start remedying the current insufficiencies.
