Abstract

AbstractThe products of the grafting reaction of methyl methacrylate (MMA) onto ethylenepropene‐diene rubber (EPDM) were characterized by size exclusion chromatography (SEC) and gradient HPLC to give detailed information about the grafting parameters. Evaporative light scattering detection (ELSD) was used for the quantitative evaluation of the HPLC runs. Gradient elution was shown to fractionate the grafting products according to chemical composition. By means of SEC‐HPLC cross fractionation the two‐dimensional distribution of chemical composition and molecular weight (CCMWD) was established qualitatively.
