Abstract

An analysis of the receiver with selection combining (SC) used in mobile networks in smart cities, based on the signal-to-interference-ratio (SIR), in the presence of η -µ multipath fading and η-µ distributed co-channel interference (CCI), will be given in this paper. The expression for the level crossing rate (LCR) will be derived and graphically shown. The aim is to point the influence of parameters of η -µ fading and CCI on the LCR. Follows, it will be introduced a network modelling, simulation and planning software environment leveraging a General-Purpose Graphics Processing Unit (GPGPU) paradigm and linear optimization. The proposed approach significantly accelerates LCR calculation, while improving Quality of Service (QoS) and reducing costs at the same time.
