Abstract

The power system has become larger and more complicated with the increase of multiple energy supplies. It's essential to solve the large-scale power flow problems accurately and efficiently, especially for the ill-conditioned case. In this paper, the continuous Newton's method is improved by the introduction of fixed Jacobian matrix. Based on the proposed improved method, the nonlinear power flow equations may be reformulated as ordinary differential equations. Numerical integration methods are performed for power flow equations, and a stable solution for the ill-conditioned case is obtained. Furthermore, the proposed method is implemented on GPU to enhance computation efficiency. Test Cases involving systems of various sizes are carried out to verify efficiency and test convergence of the proposed method.
