Abstract

This paper presents the fast factorized back projection (FFBP) algorithm for high-resolution spotlight synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data processing. To improve the imaging efficiency by using FFBP algorithm, the FFBP imaging in graphics processing unit (GPU) is presented, and the processing efficiency under the different platforms (CPU/GPU) for the different scene sizes is analyzed, which lay the foundation for developing the quasi real-time/real-time spotlight SAR imaging strategy with the FFBP algorithm. Both simulated and real-measured SAR data experiments are studied to verify the feasibility and validity of the method.
