Abstract
The UK Government's pipeline and storage system (GPSS) is a multi-product petroleum network comprising storage terminals, pipelines, pump stations, and pipeline-ingress and-egress facilitites. This paper presents the replacement project of the old control systems by a SCADA system. The following aspects are described : system overview, the hardware, system configuration, inputs and outputs, communications, pipelin-specific software (parcel tracking, leak detection, sequence control), pipeline scheduling.
