Abstract

Summary GPS application was started to use in Lithuania in 1992, at the time when Lithunian National GPS Network establishement took its start. A result of cooperation between Institute of Aviation, Institute of Geodesy, Department of Geodesy of Vilnius Technical University and Board of Lithuanian Civil Aviation was GPS station establishment in airport of Vilnius in 1995. This GPS station is the first one in Lithuania. With the help of specialists from Onsala Space Observatory, Chalmers University of Technology (Sweden) permanent GPS observations have been started in airport of Vilnius in February 9, 1996. ASHTECH Z 12 GPS receiver is automatically operating at the station. Obsevation data is stored in PC memory and in the Internet data basis. Information on Vilnius GPS station and results of GPS observation analysis is presented.
