Abstract
The U.S. Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) ended a seven-year negotiation with pediatricians and other providers of newborn care last month by releasing work values for physicians directing the care in neonatal intensive care units (NI-CUs). The move clears the way for including NICU physician work values in the Medicare resource-based relative value scale (RBRVS).
