Abstract

The six books reviewed refine our knowledge of governing boards and trusteeship in five topical areas: distinguishing characteristics of public and private sector trusteeship; public sector trustee selection and role orientation; trusteeship in multi-campus systems; board self-improvement approaches, and evaluations of board performance. Twelve areas are also identified for further conceptual and methodological examination.
