Abstract

AbstractComputer-aided technology and automatic programs are critical to improve the efficiency of game design. The goal of the paper is to research the automated design method of the Gothic architectural scene in VR games as to facilitating the existing design procedure. Firstly, we analyzed the aesthetic and structural characteristics of Gothic architecture, summarized the spatial and topological features of Gothic buildings. Secondly, we discussed the connection probability between Gothic building modules based on the principle of space topology. Then based on the Wave Function Collapse algorithm, an automatic generation model of Gothic VR game scenes was established. Finally, this model was tested on the U3D virtual simulation platform and proved its availability. The contribution of this work is to directly improve the efficiency and scale of Gothic building scene construction in VR games with an automatic generated program, but also present a reference to the design and generation of the other game architectural art scenes.KeywordsWave function collapse algorithmAutomated generationGothic game scene
