Abstract
The article is dedicated to some previously unstudied features of formation of the Soviet ideology; its artistic, not political, resource. The author considers the leading role of Maxim Gorky in this process, who originated an independent sphere of fictional anti-traditionalist ideology, which worked for the state ideology and manage to solve many of its tasks in a more effective way. Work of Pavel Korin, the author of the large unpainted masterpiece “Farewell to Rus” is analyzed in this context as well.
