Colonoscopy prevents colon cancer through the detection and removal of precancerous lesions. Endoscopists know that optimal maneuvering of the colonoscope to expose mucosa and sufficient inspection time are critical elements for effective detection. At the same time, they also know that poor bowel preparation and operator fatigue harm detection rates.
