Abstract

When I became editor of The Successful Registrar in June 2006, I wasn't exactly sure what a registrar does. I had fond memories of the registrar at my undergraduate university. He was the guy you went to when you were having a really bad day. He would make you a cup of tea and tell you that you could handle whatever the problem was, and beyond that, you were absolutely awesome in every way. I had some vague idea his job description was broader than making tea and encouraging students, but I never worried much about it.
