Abstract

Most of the men who sailed on the foundational voyage of the East India Company (1601–1603) have been anonymous in the historical record to this point. By using wills to supplement the official records of the Honourable Company, it is possible to construct a fairly comprehensive list of those who sailed on this grueling journey (over 4/5 of the participants).
