Abstract
EPPO has identified the need for an appropriate assessment and management of plant protection products and is developing standards in areas such as efficacy evaluation and good plant protection practice. The EPPO programme on good plant protection practice (GPP) is presented and its purpose is explained. The EPPO standard on GPP for potato forms part of this programme. First published in 1994, it was designed for ware potatoes, i.e. potatoes grown for consumption or processing.
