Cellular dynamics that influence mucosal healing are not well understood. In this issue of Immunity, Frede, Czarnewski, Monasterio etal. find that B cells accumulate in the colon following intestinal injury. These B cells impair epithelial repair by hindering local stromal-epithelial interactions.
