Abstract

Abstract: The denatured catalytic polypeptide of (Na+, K+)‐ATPase of goldfish brain was purified and identified as the 32P‐labeled phosphoprotein. The protein served as immunogen for the preparation of rabbit antisera for immunohistochemical application to goldfish tissue sections, using the peroxidase‐antiperoxidase indirect method. Labeling in brain cross‐sections appears primarily in fibers of the optic nerve layer of the tectum. In optic nerve cross sections, labeling is restricted to fiber bundles.
