Abstract

In the present work, we reported the preparation of the Fe3O4/SBA-16-Cit-Cya-Au nanocomposite and its catalytic efficiency of the reduction of methylene blue and methyl orange in the presence of NaBH4. The nanocomposite was characterized by FTIR, XRD, low angle XRD, TEM, FESEM-EDS, and N2 adsorption-desorption techniques. The kinetic studies fitted to the pseudo-first-order reaction. The nanocomposite acts as a promising catalyst for the reduction of organic dyes from water. The cyclic stability of the nanocomposite was investigated for eight runs and it was found that the synthesized nanocatalyst is almost active all of the cycles.
