Abstract

Blend of Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) and Chitosan (CS) doped by various concentrations of gold nanoparticles were prepared via one-pot laser ablation route to improve the performance of electrical conductivity of PVA/CS. The physical properties of the synthesized PVA/CS/AuNPs were analyzed via XRD, UV–Visible, and FE-SEM. The electrical conductivity of PVA/CS/AuNPs films has been analyzed. The influences of the various laser ablation times for production of gold nanoparticles that have been doped in PVA/CS blend on the characterizations of the synthesized samples have been obtained via several techniques. XRD shows sharp diffraction peak at 2θ = 38° related to gold nanoparticles that approved the interaction between PVA/CS and gold nanoparticles. According our results, it was show a presence of the characteristic peak of SPR of AuNPs in the UV–Vis absorption spectra at about 536 nm. AC conductivity has been increased as the concentration of AuNPs increased in PVA/CS matrix leading its suggestion for electrical applications.
