Abstract

To the Editor: Goeckerman regimen is a highly efficacious treatment option for psoriasis that involves treatment with ultraviolet B (UVB) light and 2% to 10% crude coal tar. In a previous letter to the editor, the Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minn) recommended that the Goeckerman regimen be given serious consideration for patients with psoriasis recalcitrant to biologic therapy; they demonstrated through chart review high efficacy of Goeckerman regimen for these patients.1 Their 5-year retrospective study was based on 23 patients who had failed to respond to at least one biologic agent and subsequently received therapy with Goeckerman treatment.
