Abstract

This article is the result of a documentary review around the panorama of children's participation in the School Government, from a gender perspective. This was carried out based on a categorization of the main trends that reflect the investigative reality, theories, conceptualizations, and methodologies, of different documents, which deal with the participation of children and young people in school governments. The investigations consulted come from diverse contexts and geographies that, in different textual types, present information linked to the intention that pursues this work, namely: to encourage discussions and reflections pertinent to Gender and its importance from scenarios of political participation in school contexts, to through the practice of students and students. The review was carried out based on the following categories: Gender in the School Government, Political Participation in the School and Female Leadership. Common points of analysis were found in documents, within a period of 23 years, which is why it is stated that, even though information is scarce, there are common investigative and analytical resources in public and private entities. In conclusion, it is important to carry out investigations that reflect, in a broader way, on the milestones of gender inequality in the school and specifically in the processes of student participation in the school.
