Abstract

Low current generators are described which have been built in view of checking the fidelity and reproducibility of current measurement devices using ionisation chambers. The principle of these generators is a combination of an ionisation chamber with a convenient radioactive emitter. Two types of apparatus have been built. First, so called “simple” generators able to deliver one of the following intensities: 10 −10 A±0.5%, 10 −11 A±0.3%, 10 −12 A±0.7%, 10 −13 A±2.6%. Secondly, a “multigenerator”, this last being able to deliver the following three intensities: 10 −10 A±0.5%, 10 −11 A±1%, 10 −12±2.1%.
