Abstract
The problem of domestic solid waste generated by adaption to the sedentary life has accelerated with the Industrial Revolution. In conjunction with urbanization, industrialization, population increase and economic development, domestic solid waste problem, which changes according to each country’s development level, is among the significant environmental problems of Turkey’s cities. As a natural process, domestic solid waste is generated by the necessities of sociobiological life. This kind of waste; that is produced in domestic, industrial, urban, commercial and agricultural areas; that is harmful to public health; that is included among city municipalities’ duties and that requires technical infrastructure and specialization is a vital subject matter. In this paper, as a city of Turkey, Nigde’s domestic solid waste problem has been studied. The goal of this study is to evaluate the domestic solid waste problem of the population living in the city center of Nigde. Municipal solid waste, environmental pollution problem, one has a property as a nature. Studies of this nature were made by the municipality for the disposal of pollutants. Addressing domestic solid waste operations which are only project phase currently, solution proposals will be provided. Keywords: Urban Affairs, Domestic Solid Waste, Economic Worth Waste
