Abstract

Presentamos una iniciación al estudio de este poema, en relación con la poesía anglosajona inmediatamente previa al auge del romanticismo literario. Para ello desvelamos algunos detalles técnicos que permanecían olvidados, relegados o ignorados por análisis previos, principalmente de la comparación entre la métrica inglesa y la española. En este caso, nos detendremos específi camente en algunas cuestiones métricas y formales que ponen a la obra de Avellaneda en relación con Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard, de Thomas Gray, y con Lines Written Beneath an Elm in the Churchyard of Harrow-on-the-Hill, de Lord Byron.
