Abstract

Glycodelin is an endometrial secretory protein having immunosuppressive effects. It is produced by secretory endometrial glands. Glycodelin facilitates implantation by inhibiting the immune response of the endometrium to the embryo. Decreased plasma glycodelin levels are associated with abnormal endometrial development and recurrent pregnancy loss. Although the role of glycodelin has been evaluated within the endometrium, its role in the peripheral circulation has not been determined. We evaluated circulating leukocytes from normal healthy subjects for the presence of glycodelin gene expression.
