Abstract

Photoresponsive azobenzene-cyclodextrin light-switches fabricated artificial film which can be used to regulate the transmission of glutathione (GSH) across the membrane will gain much significance due to the important role of GSH in various biological process. In this work, we used azobenzene-cyclodextrin complex as switchable unit to manipulate gating transport. Under the control of ultraviolet (UV 365 nm) and visible (Vis 430 nm) light, two states of “ON” and “OFF” transport of GSH can be realized by the switches. This study achieved controlled molecule transport through channels by taking GSH as the research object, providing a new theoretical model for biological research and hold promise for future applications such as light-controlled drug transmission.
