Abstract
SummaryGlutamic-pyruvic transaminase in hepatic tissue decreases from the second day after a single injection of carbon tetrachloride in rats. The enzyme activity does reach normal values by the tenth day. The finding of a relatively small reduction of the enzyme in hepatic tissue as compared with the known enormous increase in the serum, and the finding of a time difference in maximum response to injury between serum and hepatic tissue are discussed.
