Abstract

We present numerical results in SU(2) lattice gauge theory for the instantaneous part of the gluon propagator in Coulomb gauge D 44,inst= V coul(R)δ(t) . Data are taken on lattice volumes 24 4 and 28 4 for 7 values of β in the interval2.2 ≤ β ≤ 2.8. The data are confronted with the confinement scenario in Coulomb gauge. They are consistent with a linearly rising color-Coulomb potential V coul(R) .
