Abstract

Glueball states are considered as the bound states of massive gluons (states of pure glue field) in a nonrelativistic, analytically solvable (forl = 0), two-step potential model previously employed to study charmonium and bottonium systems and even the light mesons like π, ρ, K,... etc. The mass spectrum of excited states is predicted asl = 0 radial excitations. Eesults are in fairly good agreement with the predictions of lattice gauge theories. Gluon mass turns out to be 853 MeV in close agreement with other predictions and the r.m.s. value of glueball radius is found to be (〈r G 2 〉)1/2= 0.716 fm.
