Abstract

The performance of amperometric glucose biosensors based on the dispersion of glucose oxidase (GOx) and copper oxide with in a classical carbon(graphite) paste electrode In this paper. A biosensor electrode called (CuO nano /CPE) electrode was prepared which is a modified carbon fermentation electrode with Copper Oxide nanoparticles composed of carbon graphite powder, paraffin oil and Copper Oxide nanoparticles (24nm dia.) and put in contact with glucose oxidase enzyme in the presence of phosphate buffer by a semi-permeable membrane. Ag/AgCl reference electrode and (CuO nano /CPE) electrode were used for performing biosensor amperometric and glucose was detected in a definite concentration range by applying 0.7V constant potential to the electrodes. Experiment design was performed by Taguchi method for both glucose concentration and pH factors on three levels for which the optimum values were obtained as 1mM and 6, respectively. The biosensor remained stable for 6 days based on the activity of glucose oxidase enzyme in optimum conditions.
