Abstract
In 1914, Brocq and Pautrier, 1 under the name of glossite losangique mediane de la face dorsale de la langue, described a lesion of the tongue which had not previously been mentioned in the literature. Nothing has appeared in English on the subject, so it seems worth while to call attention to it. As the name given to the condition by Brocq and Pautrier is rather unwieldy, I have adopted a briefer one. The following is a brief summary of Brocq and Pautrier's detailed description of the condition. The lesion is invariably located in the middle third of the dorsum of the tongue, immediately in front of the lingual V formed by the circumvallate papillae.
