Abstract

This chapter presents the glossary of linguistic terms that occurs in the book The Noun Phrase in Classical Latin Prose. The book deals with prepositional phrases. Although prepositional phrases represent units usually delimited at the left-hand side by the preposition, their internal ordering does not seem to differ substantially from the ordering of noun phrases. The placement of quantifiers, adjectives, and genitive complements in prepositional phrases, is examined, after some general remarks concerning the phenomenon of framing and integration of modifiers into a noun phrase. Keywords: Latin; modifiers; noun phrase; prepositional phrases
