Abstract

This paper attempts to search for globalization alternatives of medical tourism industry. In order to achieve these objectives, a literature studies was conducted. There are 4 modes of trade in services defined as the supply of a service in GATS. According to the openness of service trade, K-wave expanded to the world. The economic effects on the service trade were achieved. Especially, Korea-wave has had a large effect on the medical tourism industry. On the basis of results of these literature studies, the problems and the globalization alternatives of the service industry were researched. The globalization alternatives of the service industry are as following. First, the foundation of promotion of K-medicine for Korean integrated medical tourism industry by K-wave (Mode 1). Second, the model development of K-medicine for Korean integrated medical tourism industry which is capable of creating high added value (Mode 2). Third, the export model development of K-medicine for Korean integrated medical tourism industry (Mode 3). Forth, the foundation of training system of experts for Korean medical tourism industry (Mode 4).
