Abstract

AbstractGeneralized drift‐flux expressions for horizontal three‐phase (gas/water/oil) conduit flows have been derived. A detailed set of phasic volume fraction data were measured for the various flow regimes observed in air/water/oil flows. This article shows that drift‐flux techniques can be used to predict the phasic volumetric fractions for horizontal three‐phase flows, such as those which may occur in off‐shore oil well lines.
