Abstract

This paperback book contains 29 articles (with 21 figures,four tables and one box) by 44 contributors from eight countries (Australia 5, Canada 14, Finland 1, New Zealand 1, South Africa 3, Switzerland 4, UK 7 and USA 9). References are placed at the end of each article. This is a timely publication in a growing area of concernbecause recent debates have focused on the relationshipbetween human health and the global political economyand social justice. A leader in this complex multi-disciplinaryfield is South African Solomon Benatar who, together withGillian Brock of the University of Auckland, has assembled avery large number of authors in various fields as contributors.
