Abstract

The expanding Earth hypothesis has been discussed on the basis of recent LLR data and the long-term decrease observed in the angular velocity of the Earth's rotation. It has been proved that the observed data do not support the hypothesis. Realistic limits for hypothetical long-term variations in the Earth's dimension consistent with observations have been derived as ±3 × 10−3 m cy−1.
